We are currently seeking a Senior Multi-Cloud Kubernetes Infrastructure Engineer to join our XCR - Xcelerator Container Runtime Team in Cairo, Egypt.


As a senior Multi-Cloud Kubernetes Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll apply specialized knowledge of container, Kubernetes and public/private cloud infrastructure design & operation, to assist with the development and onward operation of a multi-cloud container runtime platform supporting DISW Cloud enabled products & services.


This position makes significant contributions towards the delivery DevOps solutions that support best-in-class cloud based microservice applications. You’ll be a senior member of a dynamic, cross-functional, geographically dispersed team, working with subject matters experts from Infrastructure engineering & architecture, software engineering, DEVOPS, security, networks, firewalls, computing & storage to deliver a global, powerful, scalable, cost efficient, highly available platform that meets the changing needs of the business.


As an experienced infrastructure and cloud DevOps engineer & lead, you will have responsibilities in defining, planning, implementing, and operating automated infrastructure and processes at scale. You will create and maintain IaaS environments that meet service level agreement; support the resource requirements of the development, QA, and customer value realization teams; enable CI/CD; meet compliance and best practice standards; and are well documented. You will sometimes lead, proof of concept and first of a kind activity to validate product concepts.


Main Responsibilities


  • Lead a global platform team responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing a highly scalable Multi-cloud Kubernetes container runtime platform.
  • Develop and maintain efficient, resilient capabilities to achieve 99.99% availability, collaborating with specialists in networking, security, and cloud technologies.
  • Utilize advanced cloud and container runtime expertise to design, operate, and support the platform across AWS, Azure, and on-premise environments using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) practices.
  • Establish CI/CD tools, processes, and services for development, QA, and customer value realization.
  • Drive strategic planning, design, and operations, working closely with IaaS/PaaS Architects for top-tier solutions.
  • Enhance code management, deployment, security, cost control, monitoring, and auditing processes to reduce complexity and increase efficiency.
  • Prioritize competitive advantage by delivering streamlined capabilities, reducing manual tasks, and improving processes.
  • Enforce security and operational excellence, ensuring compliance with ISO27001, SOC2, GDPR, and other regulations.
  • Oversee production environment adherence to best practices and provide escalated support for critical network events.


Required skills, knowledge and experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Advanced knowledge in Amazon Web Services (AWS) services including ECS, EKS, S3, VPC, Lambda, Networking, IAM.
  • Advanced knowledge in networking and security threat models.
  • Expertise in Shell scripting (sh/bash/ksh) and Python.
  • Excellent knowledge of LINUX OS and the open-source ecosystem.
  • Experience in system automation for scalable environments is a must.
  • Advanced knowledge in system administration, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Advanced understanding of designing and implementing GitOps processes.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and testing, preferably GitLab-CI.
  • Proficiency in automation tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and Jenkins.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Cloud monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Cloudability, etc.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and share your knowledge with others.
